Love Refused to Let Us Fade

 Two souls wandering

No place to call home
they carry pain so devastating
they swore to walk the world alone

Two souls who know love
wanted nothing more than to be near
needing it to breathe
needing it to see clear
now love holds all they fear

Two souls who were once flesh and bone
now weightless beings
no emotion to be shown

As they travel this plane
neither know they exist
both feel a pull
they try to resist

They know how this goes
they would rather stay away from the mess
as the heart they once owned
feels torn to pieces in their chest

Too scared to give in
what if there is nothing left to give
better to walk the world a ghost
than to love and live.

No matter the logic
love is a force
these two souls can’t resist
two souls no longer wandering now venturing towards
whatever this is.

As they meet face to face, sparks isn’t the word
as they look they can see one another's
scars, pain, and hurt

Instead of running
they walk slowly
prolonging their embrace

Two souls once broken
Two souls who thought they were lost causes for sure
Two souls bound by pain
Now share the same heart forevermore.

 Hello, fabulous people! I have missed you all, so sorry for going MIA. Between work and getting my life back on track, I fell into autopilot; however, I am back now.   First things first, happy February to all the lovers out there! We are only on day three of this cold weather; however, it is still one of my favorite months.  It's hard not to be in the spirit for Valentine's Day. I understand how it can be a little intimidating for those who are single, seeing couples celebrate and shove their love in your face. Good thing you have me here to take the intimidation away. Generally, Valentine's Day focuses on couples and things of that nature. However, it's easy to forget that you can show yourself love and those you care about. It doesn't have to be a romantic situation for you to feel special!!  I remember growing up, and every year on Valentine's Day, my mother would surprise my siblings and me with baskets filled with candy and gifts.
